Modern Slavery Statement

M.G Brands LTD (15677412), trading as M.G Party Wall Experts, has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour and human trafficking. We publish this statement voluntarily — the practice sits below the turnover threshold in section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 — because clients and partners are entitled to know where we stand.

We are a party wall surveying practice operating in England and Wales, working for building owners, adjoining owners and developers. Our work is professional services: inspecting properties, drafting notices, recording condition and settling Awards under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. We do not carry out construction work and we do not employ site labour.

Our supply chain is short and low-risk. It consists mainly of:

• self-employed and consultant surveyors engaged directly by us;
• software, hosting and communications providers;
• printing, postal and courier services used to serve documents;
• office premises, equipment and professional services such as accountancy and insurance.

• Everyone we engage is paid at or above the National Living Wage, directly into a bank account in their own name, against an identifiable invoice or payroll record.
• We verify right-to-work and identity documents before anyone starts work with us.
• Consultant surveyors confirm they are engaged on their own account, and are not supplied through an unnamed intermediary.
• We prefer suppliers based in the UK or EEA, and we assess new suppliers for labour and ethical risk before appointing them.
• Contracts with suppliers require compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, and give us the right to end the relationship for a breach.

Anyone working with or for the practice can raise a concern about labour exploitation directly with a director, in confidence and without fear of retaliation, at info@mgpartywallexperts.co.uk. Credible concerns are investigated, and reported to the police or the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority where that is the right response. If our surveyors see signs of exploitation while visiting a site — for example workers with no contract, withheld documents or unsafe accommodation — they are told to report it internally the same day.

Surveyors and administrative staff are briefed on the indicators of modern slavery as part of induction and are reminded annually. This statement is reviewed each financial year and approved by the directors of M.G Brands LTD.
